JOZ vs PR

JOZ vs PR Team News

Jozi Stars
That Jozi Stars have made it to the Playoffs can be attributed to the 29-year-old Reeza Hendricks and in the later stage to Rassie van der Dussen. Having started their campaign with a five-wicket loss against the Bay Giants, the Stars lost three of their four games at the start before an imperious winning streak ensued. That winning streak, spearheaded by Reeza Hendricks back-to-back tons and a 79, lasted for four games, where they beat Heat [by 53 runs & 1 wicket], Bay Giants [81 runs], Cape Town Blitz [50 runs] with disdain to climb up the points table.
A six-wicket loss against the very opponents that they’ll face tomorrow, meant the Stars headed into their last fixture against Tshwane Spartans, needing to win to consolidate their place at the 2ns spot in the points table. They did that with aplomb thanks to a whirlwind 44-ball-96 by Rassie van der Dussen as the Stars squashed the Spartans’ hope of making it into the top-3.
Paarl Rocks
Skipper Faf du Plessis spearheaded what was largely an inconsistent campaign for the Paarl. With four wins in eight matches, the Rocks tuned it on when it mattered the most. They beat Jozi Stars by six wickets and headed in their last league stage match needing to win via bonus point to knock both NMG nad TST out of the reckoning. They did that with disdain thanks to Cameron Delport’s imperious 45-ball-84 which meant the target of 130, set by the Bay Giants was chased down in 15.2 overs, setting up the Eliminator against the Jozi Stars.
